Formed in the Fire: The Trunk of Endurance

Series: Fruit That Lasts – Living the Spirit-Filled Life
Week 2 – Formed in the Fire: The Trunk of Endurance
Pastor Ryan Perry Sermon 09 November 2025

Series Theme
  • The Holy Spirit doesn’t just give power—He grows the life of Jesus in us.
  • Power without character is dangerous; gifts without growth are hollow.
  • Discipleship isn’t information—it’s formation:
  • Christ-likeness, shaped by the Spirit as we stay rooted in Christ.

Today’s Message Summary
  • A tree grows strong not because life is easy, but because it stands against the wind, storms, and fire.
  • In the same way, God uses pruning and pressure to strengthen what connects our hidden roots to our visible fruit.
  • Pruning is not punishment—it is preparation.
  • It removes distractions, reorders priorities, and refines purity so that Christ’s life can flow through us unhindered.

Through testing and trial, God grows the trunk of endurance in our lives. Endurance produces character, and character gives birth to hope.

Even when the fire feels hot, remember—the Refiner never leaves the furnace.
He remains until His reflection appears in you.

Key Truth
What God trims, He intends to transform.
