SERMON NOTES 24 AUGUST 2025

What If Your Life Were a Bible Story?

Pastor Ryan Perry Sermon 24 August 2025

No matter where your story began — in shame, success, guilt, doubt, or grief — Jesus is ready to write your next chapter. He is the Author and Finisher of your faith.

Main Characters & Connections
  • The Adulterous Woman (John 8:2–11) - Shame isn’t the end of your story — Jesus doesn’t condemn, He forgives and restores.
  • The Rich Young Ruler (Matt. 19:16–22) - Success without surrender leaves you empty — only Jesus satisfies.
  • Barabbas (Matt. 27:15–22) - We are guilty but freed — Jesus took our place on the cross.
  • David (1 Sam. 16:5–13) - Overlooked by people but chosen by God — He sees what others ignore.
  • Zacchaeus (Luke 19:1–10) - Rejected and outcast, but Jesus calls you by name and brings you in.
  • Gideon (Judges 6:11–16) - Insecure and small in his own eyes, but God calls him “mighty.” He calls strength out of weakness.
  • Thomas (John 20:24–29) - Doubting doesn’t disqualify you — Jesus meets you in your questions and invites you closer.
  • Mary Magdalene (John 20:11–16) - Faithful but grieving — Jesus shows up, speaks her name, and brings hope through tears.

Application / Call to Response:
What’s your story right now? Shame? Success but empty? Guilt? Overlooked? Outcast? Insecure? Doubting? Grieving?

Jesus meets you there!

Your story doesn’t end where you started. Jesus is still writing. Hand Him the pen and let Him finish what He began.
