Jesus is the fulfillment of the Sukkah - or tent - of God among us.

God’s Dwelling Through the Ages: Eden → Tabernacle → Temple → Jesus.

• John 1:14 – “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

Capernaum: Where Was the Glory? - The synagogue faced Jerusalem, but the true Holy of Holies was in Peter’s house.

• Matthew 4:13 – “And leaving Nazareth he went and lived in Capernaum by the sea, in the territory of Zebulun and Naphtali.”
• Mark 2:1 – “And when he returned to Capernaum after some days, it was reported that he was at home.”

The Veil Was Torn: God’s presence no longer behind stone walls.

• Matthew 27:51 – “And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. And the earth shook, and the rocks were split.”
• Ephesians 2:14 – “For He himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility.”

Jesus: Fulfillment of the Temple - His blood paid for sin. He carried it away forever.

• Isaiah 53:5–6 – “He was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities… and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.”
• Psalm 103:12 – “As far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.”
• John 1:29 – “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!”

Jesus the Breaker: He smashes curses and opens blessing.

• Micah 2:13 – “He who opens the breach goes up before them… their king passes on before them, the LORD at their head.”
• Galatians 3:13–14 – “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us… so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles.”

The Glory in Grace: Not in gold, but in grace. Not in a building, but in Jesus.

• Hebrews 2:9 – “But we see him who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death.”
