Big Idea: Prayer is not a religious add-on to the Christian life. Prayer is restored dependence on the Father through Christ by the help of the Holy Spirit. Since Christians belong to the body of Christ, and the church exists to bring heaven to earth under the authority of Jesus, intercessory prayer is one of the ways God’s people stand in the gap and depend on God to do what only He can do.
